The Light of the World
— Matthew 5:14
Read at your own pace
The Light of the World
Sit. Hands at rest. Notice the breath.
Read the verse. You are the light of the world.
The verse is not a demand to be brighter. It is a recognition. The light is already there. The verse is not asking you to generate the light. It is asking you to stop covering it up.
What covers your light today? The fear of being seen. The fear of being wrong. The small, daily habits of hiding. The verse is asking, gently, to put those down.
Let the breath be the place where the covering thins. In: I am the light. Out: I do not have to hide it.
You are not the source of the light. You are the window. The light is on the other side. Your only job is to stay clean enough to let it through.
Carry this with you. The light is not yours to generate. It is yours to reveal.
A prayer
Lord, let Your light come through me today. I will stop hiding it. Amen.
Scripture
"You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid."
— Matthew 5:14
For reflection
You do not have to make yourself shine. You only have to stop hiding.
