The Face That Shines
— Numbers 6:24-25

The Face That Shines
Sit. Hands on the knees, palms up. Open.
Read the verse slowly. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you. Be gracious to you.
This is one of the oldest blessings in the world. Older than the morning, older than you, older than your worry.
The verse is a small window into how you are seen. Not as a project to be fixed. Not as a problem to be solved. As someone upon whom a face is shining. With grace. With kindness. With the long, slow tenderness of the One who made you.
Let that be the truth underneath all the other truths today. Beneath the work, beneath the family, beneath the noise, beneath the small daily failures: a face is shining upon you. With grace.
Stay a few more minutes. The face is not going anywhere. Let it find you.
A prayer
Lord, let Your face shine upon me. I receive the blessing, old as it is, true as it is. Amen.
Scripture

For reflection
Some blessings are old. Some are older than the morning. Let them find you today.
