Power in Weakness
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
Read at your own pace
Power in Weakness
Sit. Notice where the body feels tired today. Do not try to fix it. Just notice.
Read the verse slowly. Power is made perfect in weakness. Not in spite of weakness. Through it.
The world's logic says: get stronger, then you can do the thing. The gospel's logic says: be honest about the weakness, and see what shows up.
This is the most counter-intuitive form of courage: the courage to say, today, I cannot do this alone. The courage to be small.
Let the breath soften. Let the shoulders drop. The grace does not arrive after the weakness is gone. The grace arrives now.
A prayer
Lord, let my weakness be the doorway through which Your grace enters. Amen.
Scripture
"My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness."
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
For reflection
Weakness is not the opposite of grace. Weakness is the place where grace has room to land.
