Do Not Worry About Tomorrow
— Matthew 6:34
Read at your own pace
Do Not Worry About Tomorrow
Sit. Hands resting. Shoulders soft.
Read the verse once. Then again, more slowly. Today's trouble is enough for today.
Worry is the mind doing laps. The body sitting still while the mind runs a marathon. Today, we step off the track.
One breath. In. Out. If a thought about tomorrow comes, see it, name it — that's a tomorrow thought — and gently return. You are not dismissing it. You are just letting it be a thought, not a tyrant.
Carry this small practice out the door. The whole of today is enough.
A prayer
Lord of today, deliver me from the tyranny of tomorrow. Amen.
Scripture
"Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today."
— Matthew 6:34
For reflection
Tomorrow is a country you have not yet visited. Worrying about it is the slowest form of travel.
