A Gift, Not a Wage
— Ephesians 2:8-9
Read at your own pace
A Gift, Not a Wage
Sit. Hands open.
Read the verse slowly. It is the gift of God. Not the result of works.
What would today look like if you stopped earning what has already been given? What would the next hour look like? The next decision?
If you are like most people, much of your day is a small, quiet performance. The verse is interrupting that performance. You are already enough. The gift has already been given. There is nothing to earn.
Let the breath carry the relief. The body understands gifts better than the mind does.
A prayer
Lord, I receive. I do not earn. I do not perform. I receive. Thank You. Amen.
Scripture
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God."
— Ephesians 2:8-9
For reflection
The most Christian thing in the world is that you cannot earn what you have already been given.
